Manchester City door left open for Rulli

Geronimo Rulli was presented as a Real Sociedad player on Tuesday, following his move back to the San Sebastian club from Manchester City, but both player and club hinted at the possibility of a future return to the Etihad Stadium.
The Argentine shot-stopper has spent the past two seasons on loan at La Real from Uruguayan side Maldonado, but was purchased by City this summer and has since been loaned back to the LaLiga club, who will purchase him in a permanent deal in January.
However, Pep Guardiola's new team have the option to buy him back if they wish and the player suggested he'd be open to the idea one day in the future.
"I'd be lying if I said that players don't want to be at the best clubs in the world," the 24-year-old said at his presentation.
"Today I want to be a Real Sociedad player and to represent these colours and then whatever happens in the future will happen.
"But if I looked to the future now then it would affect the present and I don't want to do that."
Given the current uncertainty over the goalkeeping position in the blue half of Manchester - Guardiola dropped Joe Hart for their Premier League opener and the club is interested in another former Sociedad shot-stopper Claudio Bravo - a move to bring Rulli back to England in a future transfer window wouldn't be too surprising.
"If Manchester City are interested in him, and Rulli wants to go, then he'll leave," club president Jokin Aperribay admitted to the media, before speaking to the player directly to remind him of a mystery private agreement.
"You have promises to keep to me that we're not going to reveal today."
Despite the acceptance that the Argentina international could one day leave, La Real's president was also optimistic that fans at Estadio Anoeta will be able to enjoy the Argentine, who has a contract with the club until 2022, for several years.
