What is each player's case for being Europe's best?
fter impressive years for all three, Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Antoine Griezmann are all in the running to be voted UEFA's Best Player in Europe for the 2015/16 campaign. While the likes of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez have also impressed, the diversity of the nominated trio's success over the last year is what has made them stand out, and all have reasons to take the crown.
Cristiano Ronaldo
It could hardly have been a better summer for the 31-year-old who, after winning the Champions League with Real Madrid against Griezmann's Atletico, inspired Portugal to a shock victory at Euro 2016. As well as that, his goal tally speaks for itself, netting 35 in LaLiga and 16 in just 13 Champions League outings, one off his personal best which he set two years ago.

Injuries played a part in reducing the amount of games he played, but certainly did not impact on Bale's form - in 23 LaLiga games, the Welshman netted 19 goals - as well as that Champions League win with Real Madrid. A big performance was needed from him at Euro 2016 if Wales were to make an impact at their first tournament in 58 years, and his three goals led the Red Dragons all the way to the semi finals.
Antoine Griezmann
The posterboy for Atleti's great season, Griezmann scored 22 goals in LaLiga as well as decisive Champions League goals against Barcelona and Bayern Munich in the run up to the final. After that came the European Championship, when the Frenchman inspired his country to the final on home soil as top scorer with six goals, having started the tournament as a substitute.
