Genuine Madrid first to achieve seven progressive Champions Class semi-finals

It was an essential night at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu as Genuine Madrid overcame a versatile Bayern Munich side to achieve their seventh progressive Champions Class semi-last, a deed never beforehand accomplished.

At no other time in either the Champions Group pretense or the European Glass has a solitary group achieved the last four in such a large number of back to back seasons and it is yet another amazing deed for Zinedine Zidane's spell in control.

The past record was six progressive appearances which was mutually held by Barcelona and Los Blancos.

Since the 2010/11 season, Genuine Madrid have been an ever show in the last phases of Europe's first class rivalry and have figured out how to lift the trophy twice in that time.

Bayern Munich's own exhibitions generally have been amazing and had they advanced on Tuesday they would have tied the record by achieving six progressive semi-finals of their own.

Its a well known fact that the Spanish mammoths are out all alone in European rivalry; they have lifted the trophy more than any other individual with the 11 triumphs and have now been in the semi-last a record 28 times.

Their next closest challenger to that record is Bayern Munich who have been semi-finalists on 18 distinct events.
