While most members of Real Madrid's first
team are out on international duty, Karim
Benzema took his chance to shine and reportedly excelled
during Friday's session at the club's Valdebebas training facility.
The French striker, whose lone appearance
this season dates back to the UEFA Super Cup on August 9 against Sevilla, seems
to have left behind a hip injury that has been bothering him since the early
pre-season tour in North America.
"I'm back," Benzema said on Twitter
on Thursday.
Los Blancos coach Zinedine Zidane is hoping
his countryman continues his recovery in time for Monday's training session so
that he could then include the forward in the match list for the upcoming
LaLiga clash against Osasuna.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Fabio Coentrao, whose
respective long-standing injuries have also prevented them from making their
2016/17 debuts, joined Benzema in the gym and on the pitch, whereas Isco
Alarcon and Mariano Diaz did not take the field.
