Sporting 1-1 Sevilla: held at Sporting and miss opportunity to go best

Sevilla were again let around their dreary away frame as they were held to a 1-1 draw at battling Sporting Gijon and misused the opportunity to temporarily go top of La Liga on Saturday.

Jorge Sampaoli's side were pursuing a win to seal the club's best-ever begin to a group season and Luciano Vietto got them off to a fantasy begin by hooking on to a boot up field from goalkeeper Sergio Rico to press the ball under Ivan Cuellar in the fourth moment.

Sevilla snatched a first away triumph in 17 months in their past trip at Leganes yet any desires for a brief moment straight win out and about were soon dashed by Moi Gomez's volley to level the scores in the twentieth moment.

The meeting side commanded the rest of the diversion and regardless of chances tumbling to Franco Vazquez and Pablo Sarabia, and Sporting's Duje Cop hitting his own side's post, a champ demonstrated tricky.

Sevilla remain second, level on 21 focuses with pioneers Real Madrid, who play at Alaves later on Saturday.

Champions Barcelona can jump Sevilla when they have base side Granada, while Atletico Madrid play Malaga at home.
