- Dembele will travel to Finland for surgery after rupturing a tendon
- He picked up the injury in Saturday's 2-1 win over Getafe in La Liga
Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele should experience surgery and is set for four months out of activity in the wake of breaking a ligament against Getafe on Saturday.
Demeble was constrained off following 25 minutes of the diversion at Getafe, yet nobody expected the damage would be so genuine.
An announcement from Barça on Sunday read: "Tests have affirmed that initially cooperative person Ousmane Dembele has cracked the ligament in his femoral bicep in his left thigh.
"The player will be worked on by Dr. Sakari Orava in Finland this week. He is relied upon to be out for in the vicinity of three and a half months and four months."
It comes as the 20-year-old was adjusting to life at the club following his late spring move from Borussia Dortmund.
Dembele, in this way, is probably not going to play again for Barcelona until 2018.
