The
recent FIFA sanction imposed upon Real Madrid will ensure that Zinedine Zidane's
children are unable to play for the club, a decision that the Frenchman
described as absurd at his pre-match press conference before the Osasuna game.
It's a penalty that
has entirely overshadowed the preparation for Saturday's match, something that
has angered Zidane.
"I don't
understand the punishment, my children were born here, have lived here all
their lives and it is absurd that they can't play football.
"I'm annoyed
that it's happened and I hope it can be fixed quickly."
Asked whether he had
a sufficient enough squad despite the sanction, the coach was a little more
positive.
"I'm very happy
with the squad, they're happy here, and if we have to be two or three years
with this team, no problem."
The coach did at
least have one piece of good news with the return of Cristiano Ronaldo to the
starting line up.
"It's been 60
days have since his last game, we have to give him time.
"He will play on
Saturday, Cristiano is an important player and I want him with me always."
Having received all
of his international players back without injury pleased Zidane, but one or two
will be rested for the match against Osasuna.
"I'm glad to see
all the players well after 10 days break, it's great news.
"James is here
with us as are Marcelo and Casemiro, but none of the three will play.
"After 10 days
out they need to rest.
"Will the BBC
Play? You'll see the line-up going on Saturday but we are very happy to have
Karim with us again."
Another player
definitely out is goalkeeper Keylor Navas, who is struggling to overcome his
injury.
"I don't know
when he'll be fit, I can not give a date," Zidane noted.
In closing, the
winning of the league was reiterated as being the most important competition
this season.
"We want to win
everything but the League is the most important competition, because there are
38 games and you have to win almost every game.
"Last year we
lost by one point despite winning 12 straight fames at the end."
