Bale and Kroos to return for Reims friendly

while Real Madrid's pre-season tour of the United States will have satisfied the club's accountants and provided an opportunity for some of the younger players to impress, Zinedine Zidane will be looking to forward to getting his senior stars back and Tuesday night's friendly with Stade de Reims should see the return of Gareth Bale and Toni Kroos.

Following both players' involvement at the European Championships with Wales and Germany respectively, and an extended vacation afterwards, the pair only returned to training on August 6th.
Since then both have been working separately with Real's new trainer, Antonio Pintus, in an effort to be in peak condition for the start of the season.
Eight days of gruelling sessions with Pintus meant Bale and Kroos only joined their teammates for training on Thursday and despite both wanting to play in the UEFA Super Cup on Tuesday, Zidane opted to leave them out.
Ahead of a long season the French coach is cautious not to burn out his top players and so the match with Reims is seen as a good way for the pair to get a little playing time before the LaLiga opener against Real Sociedad.
