Valencia still reluctant to sell
star
Waiting patiently by the phone, Paco Alcacer is expecting a call any moment now from Barcelona to confirm that a deal has been done for his transfer to the Spanish champions.
In the meantime, while he is still a
Valencia player the striker continues to work under coach Pako Ayesteran, as he
did on Thursday morning with the rest of the team.
Alcacer reported for duty at Ciudad
Deportiva da Paterna at around 8.30 CET, where he stopped his car in order to
sign autographs for fans, before training with his teammates on the pitch and
in the gym.
The 22-year-old has already explained to
club president LayHoon Chan that he wants to move to the Blaugrana, while Peter
Lim has been in discussions with the Catalan club.
Valencia had previously made it clear that
they did not want to sell the Spanish international in the midst of an exodus
from the squad, and even asked Alcacer to make it clear to the public that the
transfer was being made at his own request.
While the club would rather keep a player
of Alcacer's quality in the team, there is also the economic reality of the
situation, especially in a year without Champions League football, and
Barcelona are willing to offer 30 million euros with a further two million
subject to certain conditions.
