Berizzo hoping to avoid second
defeat in a row
The Estadio Santiago Bernabeu does hold
fond memories for Celta Vigo, who lost 7-1 to Real Madrid the
last time they visited the capital.
It's the biggest win of Zinedine
Zidane's time as head coach so far, as his team blitzed Celta with six second
half goals, while conversely it is Eduardo Berizzo's worst defeat while at the
helm.
The Galicians will be hoping to forget
that defeat on Saturday when they return to the hallowed turf in Madrid, but
will need to take on the lessons learned at the same time.
"It will not affect us," said
attacking midfielder Josep Sene Escudero, who was an unused sub on that day.
On this occasion Celta will not have to
deal with the injured Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored four of the seven goals in
that meeting.
However, the visitors are also without
a star player from that game in the form of Nolito, who left during the summer
to join Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, meaning this will still be an uphill
task for the side.
"We have to play perfectly to get
something at the Bernabeu," said Berizzo, while Sergi Gomez pointed out
that Real Madrid are "lethal" on the counter-attack.
Celta lost their opening game of the
season 1-0 to newly promoted side Leganes, in what was the Pepineros first ever
top flight game in LaLiga.
