For the second time in a week,
Atletico Madrid were held to a draw against a newly-promoted side, which
Antoine Griezmann labelled as relegation form.
After
missing last weekend's draw with Alaves due to suspension, the France
international was back in action, but he could not help push his side over the
line.
"If
we continue like this we'll be fighting against relegation," the forward
said to beIN LaLiga in a post-match interview.
He also
refused to blame the evening's poor showing on a lack of match fitness.
"I'm
physically fine, but I'm upset at the result," he said.
It is
the worst start to a season since Diego Simeone took charge at the club, with
Atleti having taken four points from their first two games in 2012/13 and
2014/15, while in 2013/14 and 2015/16 they started with two wins from two.
Griezmann
called for his team to overcome the disappointing start by getting back to
winning ways.
"We
need to wake up, keep working and get back to being ourselves as soon as
possible."
Following
the international break, Los Rojiblancos will return to action with an away
match against Celta Vigo on September 10.
