Two strikers are
heading in opposite directions after Paco Alcacer passed his medical to join Barcelona
whilst Munir El Haddadi is expected to join Valencia.
Although not officially confirmed, the Los Che forward signed
his contract before boarding a flight to Madrid, where he joined the Spain team
for international duty.
It seems as if his move to the Blaugrana is complete but has not
been made public because it depends on Munir's departure.
The 20-year-old has ruled out a move to Celta Vigo, his first
choice, as they could not agree terms.
He has passed a medical in Madrid, where he is training with
Spain, and so has completed one more step towards a loan transfer to Valencia
with an option to buy for about 12 million euros.
One of the Catalan club's priorities was to sign a striker this
season to have an alternative in place in case one of their trident became
injured.
They toyed with many names but the problem was many of them
would not want to be bench warmers for a lot of games during the season.
One of the players they had in mind, Kevin Gameiro, opted to go
to Atletico Madrid instead.
But that is not such an issue for the 23-year-old who has youth
on his side and is relishing the challenge, unlike the Frenchman who is 29.
It is yet to be seen whether he will become another illustrious
transfer from Los Che to Barcelona, joining the likes of Andre Gomes, Jeremy
Mathieu, Jordi Alba and David Villa in deals worth 139m euros over the past six
seasons.
