Chilean goalkeeper joins on four-year deal
Pep Guardiola finally has his ball-playing goalkeeper, with Claudio
Bravo's move from Barcelona to Manchester City now officially confirmed.
Signing for Barcelona back in 2014 after the departure of club
legend Victor Valdes, the Chilean managed to win eight titles in only two
seasons with the Catalans, and was named in the LaLiga team of the year during
in his first campaign.
The 33-year-old signs a four-year deal with the English club,
who will fork out a transfer fee of 18 million euros as well as possible
further two million in variables.
The past season saw the Chilean share goalkeeping duties with
Marc-Andre ter Stegen, with the German taking the role of designated Copa Del
Rey and Champions League custodian.
Bravo departs the Catalan club having played 75 official games
in which he conceded 43 goals, arriving in Manchester fresh off a successful
summer, winning his second Copa America title with Chile.
His transfer throws into question the future of England
goalkeeper Joe Hart, who is now expected to seek a move away from the Etihad
Stadium.
