Busquets: Our playing philosophy
will stay the same
he Spanish national team face Belgium in a friendly on Thursday before their
2018 World Cup qualifyer against Liechtenstein on Monday, and Sergio Busquets
is looking forward to maintaining a similar playing style as new
coach Julen Lopetegui welcomes
in a new era.

Del Bosque's successor has emphasised that the squad needs evolution not
revolution, and the Barcelona defensive midfielder seems to agree.
"Our
playing philosophy will stay the same- my specific role will be almost
identical in fact," Busquets said. "We want to be the ones with the
initiative, and have a style like La Roja had before and the one I am used to
at my club [Barcelona]."
Spain
suffered a round of 16 exit to Italy in this summer's Euro 2016 tournament, and
questions were asked of how the national team should proceed given the
stagnation after so much recent success.
