- Valencia forward could bring Blaugrana's summer transfer business to a close
After closing deals for Samuel Umtiti, Lucas Digne and Andre Gomes, Barcelona have contacted Valencia over the purchase of Paco Alcacer.
The 22-year-old striker is coming off a season in which he netted 13 LaLiga goals and had been linked with a Premier League move earlier in the summer.
Barcelona sources have told MARCA that the club is negotiating with Valencia, although it isn't expected that the Spaniard will be allowed to leave the club cheaply.
He has a buyout clause set at 80 million euros, but it is unlikely the Catalan giants will go anywhere near that figure, with it instead expected Sergi Samper be incorporated into the deal.
Valencia have garnered a reputation over the past two years for allowing their key players to leave the club without making things especially difficult for the buyers.
Nicolas Otamendi and Andre Gomes were both transferred for fees lower than the buyout clauses that were set in their contracts, much to the chagrin of supporters.
It is this that gives Luis Enrique's team hope that they can structure a deal before the transfer window closes at the end of August.
The same source close to the Catalan club is also suggesting that the Blaugrana have refused to give up on tempting one of Brazil's Olympic stars Luan and Gabriel Barbosa to the club this summer.
