Pepe and Cristiano Ronaldo |
Portuguese pair had been given extended leave after European Championship
Ral
Madrid now have all of their players available, as both Pepe and Cristiano
Ronaldo joined up with the group in the club's training facilities at
Valdebebas following their extended breaks, after the duo won this summer's
European Championship in France.
The
rest of the team arrived back from Norway at 07:00 local time following theUEFA Super Cup victory,
and even with all the travelling done, boss Zinedine Zidane wanted the full
squad at the training ground.
Both
players took part in gym work though it will be a while before Ronaldo recovers
from the knee injury he sustained in the final against France a month ago.
If
everything goes according to plan, the forward should be fit to take part in
Real's second league game of the season against Celta Vigo.
The
players involved in the Super Cup were given the day off but Gareth Bale and
Toni Kroos - neither of whom travelled - also trained on Tuesday.
The
team will start preparing on Wednesday for their LaLiga opener against Real
Sociedad on August 21.
