Afamiliar face has returned to Real Madrid,
with Brazil legend Ronaldo Nazario becoming an
advisor to president Florentino Perez and global ambassador for the club.
The fourteenth anniversary of the striker's
signing from Inter, following his stunning performances that inspired Brazil to
victory at the 2002 World Cup, is on August 31, and he is still thought of
fondly at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
As Zinedine Zidane's appointment as coach in
January proves, Perez is keen on bringing a number of his former Galacticos
side back to the club in different capacities.
But with Brazil hosting both the World Cup and
Olympic Games over the last two years, Ronaldo's return had not been possible
until now.
Nicknamed El Fenomeno, aka the phenomenon,
Ronaldo is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, scoring
104 goals in 177 games for Real while also enjoying successful stints at
Barcelona, Inter and PSV Eindhoven.
