Zidane makes history with Super Cup victory

Yet another player and coach record matched

real Madrid continue to rewrite history after defeating Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup which opened the door for Zinedine Zidane to join a very exclusive club.
Until Tuesday just five men had lifted the trophy as both player and coach with the Frenchman becoming the sixth member.
The first was Johan Cruyff who won the cup in three consecutive years in the 1970s as a player with Ajax and then 20 years on as Barcelona coach.
Carlo Ancelotti followed on by beating the Dutchman's record to be the man to win the continental title the most times - as a player with AC Milan in 1989 and 1990, and as a coach with the Italian side in 2003 and 2007, before helping Los Blancos to their 10th European title in 2014.
Luis Enrique and Pep Guardiola lifted the silverware as players at the Catalan club in 1997 and then as coaches - the Asturian with the Azulgranas in 2015 and his teammate notched up a brace with the side in 2009 and 2011 as well as with Bayern Munich in 2013.
Diego Simeone has also achieved the double wearing the shirt of Lazio in 1999 and with Atletico Madrid in 2012.
Now Zidane joins them after Tuesday's triumph but he is also in the unique position to have won the pair with Real. In 2002 the Frenchman won the title on the pitch against Feyenoord, and now 14 years on as Los Blancos coach.
It could be argued that Gianluca Vialli also deserves a mention because he won the trophy with Chelsea as their player-manager in 1998 but this is open to debate.
